How it all began

In October 2010 Paul Hammerton noticed a worrying trend in football clubs in the area. Some were refusing children due to what they perceived as their footballing skill and level, meaning children who just wanted to play football were being denied the opportunity. As a parent Paul was not happy with this and Allan (Accrington Stanley Coach) offered support to create a new football club within the community that would service all children in the area.

So Hyndburn Youth Football Club was born ………………………..

The main aim was to give every child the opportunity to play, the club started with 6 children having training drills on Higham’s playing field, Accrington. The first task for these children was to design the club badge, as the club is about the children it felt best that they design this very key part of the clubs history.

The club welcomes children from all backgrounds and never refuses anyone who just wants to play the game of football, we believe everyone who wants to play should have the opportunity too.

Fast forward to today - The club is run completely on volunteers and everyone has given more than we could ever have asked.
